bio
Aashna Pujara, b.2002
Aashna Pujara is a South-Asian multidisciplinary artist from Hamilton, Ontario, currently studying at OCAD University in Toronto. Their work consists of printmaking and textiles, and often a harmonious collaboration of the two mediums. In their practice, they are currently exploring how environments and surroundings affect sentient beings through material research of working with elements from the earth, and exploring natural imagery through textures. Aashna has exhibited at various artist spaces in Ontario, including Tap Centre for Creativity (London, Ontario), Gallery 35 (Brampton, Ontario), Bevy (Toronto, Ontario), Midnight Arcade (Toronto, Ontario), OCAD University (Toronto, Ontario), and InPrint Collective (Toronto, Ontario). Aashna has also been awarded a TSA summer bursary from OCAD University, and is currently a studio assistant at Centre[3], a printmaking studio in Hamilton, Ontario. After receiving their BFA, Aashna hopes to be a part of the printmaking community in both Toronto and Hamilton, and develop their practice through applying to residencies.
